Sunday Soul Search - Warrior Values I always talk Values at the first of the year with people. Not that they change from year to year - but this is the time to check in, reflect on the year that was, and recommit to the values that will guide you through 2021. Our values ground us - and can serve to guide us as we choose between different opportunities, games we play, and actions to take when a breakdown occurs in our life. Consider you don't "choose" your values, rather you "discover them". Today, take on getting in touch with your personal values: a) Look back at your personal and career life - when were you the happiest, most proud, fulfilled or satisfied? b) Take those experiences - and look for words in a Personal Values Word List that resonate for you. Mission Possible - Creating Health & Fitness for the LGBTQ community After some time reflecting and creating this week, I've created the focal point of the upcoming Missions for Healthy Living Warrior. Here's what I'm out to create in the world: 1. Structures to provide daily ACCESSIBLE physical activity opportunities for the LGBTQ community. 2. Structures / groups to carry on conversations to transform Food Culture for the LGBTQ community. 3. Support 1,000 people to achieve their healthy weight and body goals with personalized programs in 5 years. 4. Cause the Prescription to Get Active Program to take off for the LGBTQ community in Toronto I will channel my focused daily energy into these missions! It is normal for us to collapse Healthy Living with Body Image. In fact, human beings are mentally and socially programmed to compare visual presentations to an ideal.   Mathematically, the brain is predisposed to find certain patterns & symmetries more pleasing to the eye.   We do it with everything - from fruit at the grocery store to bodies at the bar – comparing what’s in front of us to a mental picture of an “ideal”. The Vitruvian Man, by Leonardo da Vinci, depicts the “ideal human body proportions”, based on geometry described by an ancient (we’re taking 20-30 BC sort of ancient here) Roman architect – Vitruvius.   Vitruvian Theory states that an architect should focus on three central themes when preparing a design. Hey there! I'm CJ Tremeer - a Healthy Living Warrior!  I'm a Gay Personal Trainer - and I help gay men struggling with body image, unhealthy habits, or self confidence to become mental and physical healthy living warriors through individualized exercise & nutrition programs! I spent my teens and 20s battling body image, self esteem, and emotional eating issues, and trying to work up enough strength and courage to come out. It was a long lonely process - and wildly unsuccessful for the most part.
